The Electoral Court has dismissed an appeal by a losing Zanu-PF candidate to overturn the Chinhoyi ward one results.
Tapera Mutovido, who lost by two votes in the recent elections, petitioned the court, challenging the outcome of results and calling for a recount of the votes.
Mutovido was alleging that MDC Alliance winning candidate Sairos Good won unfairly.
He was also alleging a presiding officer at one of the polling stations unfairly converted spoilt ballots into ballots supposedly cast in favour of Good. But Justice Mushore dismissed the petition saying it was "fatally defective".
Good welcomed the judgement, saying he could now start having meetings in his ward without any hindrance from Zanu-PF members.
