The Morgan Tsvangirai Legacy pressure group has dismissed the Advocate Nelson Chamisa led MDC congress set for May this year, as null and void saying they are now preparing for an extraordinary congress to elect a legitimate successor to the late Tsvangirai.
Cracks within the opposition Chamisa-led MDC continue to widen.
Several members of the Morgan Tsvangirai Legacy pressure group gathered in capital and declared Advocate Chamisa an illegitimate president.
"We are in the process of conducting an audit to restore all official structures which Advocate Chamisa and cabal have replaced with their own people, after that we will hold an extraordinary congress in line with constitution to elect a legitimate successor to Tsvangirai," said the group's spokesperson Webber Chinyadza.
The pressure group denounced all the recently held provincial nominations conducted under the orgy of violence as they have nothing to do with MDC.
It remains to be seen if the pressure group's resolution to declare the MDC May congress null and void will hold water or mark the beginning of yet another MDC split.
