A MBERENGWA woman who is demanding $ 30 000 from Zanu-PF Mberengwa North Member of Parliament Tafanana Zhou for allegedly breaching a promise to marry and for allegedly breaking her v1rginity could be a habitual extortionist after she allegedly raised similar allegations against a Zvishavane businessman in 2014, The Herald has learnt.
Ms Henrietta Chauke raised similar allegations against Mr Simon Magidivani in 2014 where she demanded USD$ 10 000 for contumelia.
In her summons with record number 978790 and case number 999/14 of Zvishavane, Chauke claimed that sometime during the period between August 2014 and October 2014, Magidivani fell in love with the plaintiff. The plaintiff claimed she was a v1rgin at that time and was violated by the businessman.
Ironically, Chauke made similar claims against the legislator in September 2018.
MP Zhou, through his lawyers, Mutuso, Taruvinga and Mhiribidi, dismissed the allegations.
He said the Plaintiff was a serial litigant who intended to abuse court processes to humiliate him.
MP Zhou claimed that the trumped up charges and false claims were politically motivated.
"It is my averment that the claim has no prospects of success it is flavorous and vexatious in nature and is designed to tarnish my good name and social standing. I am a Member of Parliament and I am inclined to believe that it is my opponents who have hatched a plan to bring my name into disrepute. I aver that there are no triable issues in this matter as nit is clear that as per respondent's allegations she lost her v1rginity sometime in 2014. The claim by the Respondent is not made with a bona fide intention of seeking justice.
"It is my belief that this action is an abuse of court process as respondent carries no genuine intention of seeking seduction damages," reads part of MP Zhou's response.
MP Zhou also attached Whatsapp messages where Chauke was pestering her for sex.
It has also emerged that Ms Chauke is using the lawsuit to get back at Zhou who allegedly exposed her mother former Mnene Mission Hospital matron, Sister Danai Chauke for failing to account for money disbursed to the health institution by Government under targeted approach.
Matron Chauke was once suspended in 2015 after Zhou exposed the rot the Mberengwa's biggest referral hospital.
