Vimbai Tsvangirai the daughter of the late former Prime Minister Morgan Richard Tsvangirai is steadily recovering in hospital MDC President Nrelson Chamisa has revealed.
Posting on micro blogging site Twitter Chamia said, "I have just been to hospital to visit and pray with Hon Vimbai Tsvangirai Java. I am glad to see her steadily recovering and in stable condition. We thank God for the grace and covering upon her life. Thank you all for your prayers and continuous supply of comfort. Be Blessed!"
Vimbai was seriously injured in a fatal head-on collision, which claimed two party members just outside Kwekwe on Monday night.
They were driving from Bulawayo, where they had gone for a party caucus meeting.
Her campaign manager and organising secretary for her Glen View South constituency, Paul Rukanda, and Tafadzwa Mundwa, her late mother Susan's cousin, succumbed to injuries sustained in the accident after they remained trapped in their vehicle for over an hour before emergency services could be secured.
Chamisa posted a picture of Rukanda and said, "Sad moment...Below is profile picture on the late great Paul Rukanda's phone. Paul, MDC's Glen View South Organising Secretary, died on Monday upon a fatal accident in Kwekwe. Paul had requested a selfie when we met after the Harare provincial debate last week. Go well mutosvori werima!"
