A section of Bulawayo residents has vowed to shutdown the Bulawayo offices of the opposition Movement for Democratic Change until the party has recalled its councillors who are of Shona origin.
The residents made the statements on Friday after engaging in bloody running battles with the said councillors who are accused of using tribalism to fire the Bulawayo town Clerk Christopher Dube who is accused of corruption.
A message that was seen by this publication said the residents are organizing themselves to accompany the Town Clerk to resume his duties on Monday at the City Hall and after that, they are moving to the MDC Office where they will put it under lock and key till their demand are met.
Self-styled pastor Anglistone Themba Mthiyane Sibanda confirmed on social media that they want to close the MDC office.
"Thank you... siyavala i office ye MDC until Chamisa recalls his thugs.....ayihlome!!!" He said.
On Friday some Bulawayo youths besieged the Bulawayo City Hall where they heavily assaulted three councillors Kambarami, Mhaka and Chigora.
The councillors had on Thursday served the Town Clerk with a suspension letter over various corruption issues.
The suspension was overturned by the Mayor Solomon Madlala Mguni who said the Town Clerk must first respond to the allegations within 7 days.
