EFF to join MDC in anti-Mnangagwa demonstrations

The Zimbabwe Economic Freedom Fighters has announced that it will be join the main opposition MDC in the schedule anti-Mnangagwa mass Demonstrations set for 16 August 2019.
In a statement on Thursday the party said,"the decision to participate in these mass demonstration is in
solidarity with of our people who experience the consequences of 39 years of the Zanu PF government's economic mismanagement on a daily basis."
The party set out the demands that must be implemented for Zimbabwe to me forward. The demands are as follows:
Parliament to be dissolved and a Government of National Unity ("GNU" be formed for a period of 5 years until the next General elections in 2023;
i) For the military to return to the Barracks and the rule of law to be re-instated in our land;
ii) For the GNU to make all essential and meaningful electoral changes to usher in the true will of the people;
iii) An Independent Anti-Corruption Unit to be set up to investigate and bring to Justice all those who have looted our state resources over the period of Zanu PF rule;
iv) An Independent Commission, led by internationally approved Commissioner(s) to be set up to address long standing Human Rights Abuses by Zanu PF;
v) An Economic Revival Plan to be drawn up to address the severe economic challenges the country is facing;
vi) Immediately embark on an expansive monetory policy backed by re-energising of industry and commerce to
create conditions employment for our people;
Urging its members to participate in the protests the parts said, "We call upon all our ground forces from all our structures to join the people of Zimbabwe in the demonstrations on the 16th of August 2019. We further call upon our ground fighter to partake in the demonstrations peacefully and to resist responding to deliberate provocations by the Zanu PF blood thirst youths and mercenaries .
"It is time that we stand together as Zimbabweans to demand change and accountability from our political leaders. Doing nothing at this juncture is not an option. We cannot sit back and continue to live in perpetual misery and poverty."
