MDC-T activist assaults Zanu-PF activist, taken to court

A 43-year-old MDC-T activist from Gutu was yesterday arraigned before the Masvingo magistrate courts facing a charge of assaulting a Zanu-PF supporter.
Johanna Chikwara of Plot 30 Shashe Resettlement allegedly assaulted Elias Nhatare accusing him of being responsible for the assault he suffered during the 2008 hamornised elections.
Nhatare is the headman of the area.
Chikwara denied the charge when he appeared before Mr Oliver Oliver Mudzongachiso.
The offence was allegedly committed on 23 June.
The court heard that Chikwara hit Nhatare with a log fracturing his hand. He was taken to hospital for treatment.
