Ward 1 Councillor Mlandu Ncube has been elected as the Deputy Mayor of the City of Bulawayo at an election held on Wednesday.

Mlandu Ncube is one of the four Councillors that were on the media being accused of wined and dined by a Harare City Council owned company City Parking in a bid to solicit for their support towards the parking bid.
Evidence showed that the Councillors who travelled to Harare for the bid were Sikhululekile Moyo of Ward 17, Mlandu Ncube of ward 1, Frank Javangwe of ward 13 and Sinikiwe Mutanda of Ward 10 were wined and dined at a Harare hotel from the 9th to the 17th of May 2019 at the expense of City Parking.
The bid failed after residents of Bulawayo rose up in arms against the council.
