Speaking at the Harare International Airport on Friday evening when he had returned from Tehran, Iran where he was attending the 16th Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) summit, President Robert Mugabe said any political changes in the world have to be democratic.
He said the summit was important as it decided the way forward in resisting uprisings.
The President said: "General impression is very good. Its a summit that had to decide the way forward on the basis of NAM being more active than before, on the basis of NAM having a form of unity which would help it to resist what has become blatant acts of aggression on developing countries by NATO powers as we have seen happen in North Africa and is happening in Syria.
"So we have to resist this kind of aggression, any political changes have got to be democratic, have got to be peaceful and we must encourage dialogue rather than war but NATO powers are encouraging revolts and armed approaches to the attainment of democracy.
"You can't attain democracy that way because if a group manages to overthrow an existing government it also will in turn be overthrown surely by another group revolting against it."
He was met at the Harare International Airport by Vice President Joice Mujuru, Senator Aguy Georgias, service chiefs and senior government officials.
