Zimbabwe and Zambia signed a double taxation agreement (DTA) on November 29, 2012 in Harare as a culmination of the resolution made during the Joint Permanent Commission (JPC) meeting held between the two countries two months ago.
The JPC meeting, which was held in July 2012, saw the signing of various Memoranda of Understanding between Zimbabwe and Zambia in the areas of tax management, science and technology as well as small and medium enterprises development.
"It is my hope that economic relations between our two countries will further be enhanced once this agreement is in force," said the Commissioner General of Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA), Mr Berlin Msiska, during the signing off ceremony.
Zimbabwe and Zambia have a long history of partnership, which was cemented in 2009 by the establishment of the Chirundu One Stop Border Post on the border between the two countries.
