A police constable stationed at Senga Police Station allegedly caught his wife pants down with another man on Wednesday night within the police quarters.

Constable Darlington Makoshori, who is attached to the Police Dog Section, was coming from seeing a relative when he allegedly found his wife, also a member of the police force, Ms Hazvinei Monica Chimbetete, in bed with another man.

"I am still in shock, as I least expected my wife to do that to me. I am also shocked by the man's behaviour. He dared to get into the police camp and enter into my house where I found him being intimate with my wife," said Const Mukoshori.

He said he was still to get full details of the identity of the man he found having a nice time with his wife after he bolted out of the house and fled half-naked.

Const Mukoshori said he was still conducting his investigations to find out the identity of his wife's lover.

"My wife is refusing to give details of her lover, who bolted out of the house through the window half-naked. I am still holding on to his undergarments and shirt, which fell to the ground when I chased after him to no avail. There are also some leads," he said.

Const Mukoshori said he was coming from Mkoba Village 17 when he got home only to find his wife with another man.

"We were having some domestic problems with her and she at one point opened a docket against me. When we reached a consensus, which resulted in her withdrawing the docket, I then told her that I wanted to go and see my brother, who lives in Mkoba Village 17," he said.

Const Mukoshori said he returned to his quarters at Senga police camp at round 7pm only to stumble onto his wife with another man in their matrimonial bedroom.

"When I went to Mkoba, I indicated to my wife that I was going to spend a week there, as I was also off duty. I then returned on Wednesday intending to collect an iron. That is when I caught my wife cheating. I became suspicious when I knocked and discovered that the door was locked from inside because we rarely lock our door. We stay within the police camp and there are no cases of break-ins or theft so we rarely lock our doors even when sleeping," he said.

Const Mukoshori said when he later peeped through his bedroom window, he saw Ms Chimbetete, who was naked, trying to lower the curtains.

"I then heard a bang at the door, as the man, who was inside tried to get out, but I quickly ran to the door while calling others within the police camp, to come to my house. The man, however, managed to escape through the window half-naked. His under-garments and a shirt which he was holding in his hands, fell to the ground just outside my house, as he took to his heels. I tried to give chase with the help of fellow police officers, but to no avail," he said

Contacted for comment, Const Chimbetete was evasive and said she would not discuss her "private" life in the media.

"What was the purpose of him (Const Mukoshori) bringing that information to the media when we have channels of solving such issues within the organisation?" she said.
