Zanu PF says youths should register to vote in the forthcoming harmonised elections so that they can play a part in determining the political landscape of the country.
Zanu PF politburo member, Tendai Savanhu, who was addressing the youth leadership in Mbare, said the party has been able to re-organise the structures and the youths should register to vote so that they can exercise their democratic right.
Savanhu said youths, who constitute a larger percentage of the population, are important in protecting the gains of the liberation struggle through their vote.
"We have been restructuring the party ahead of the elections, but we are saying as young people your vote is your right. Register to vote now so that you can exercise your democratic right."
He said youths, who are normally used to perpetrate political violence, should desist from the practice and be involved in the political activities of the country.
Meanwhile, the Registrar General's office is lamenting lack of financial support from the Ministry of Finance.
Registrar General Tobaiwa Mudede has been quoted saying his organisation is failing to carry out mobile voter registration programmes due to lack of funding.
