Vice President Mujuru has warned Zanu-PF members against engaging in any violent conduct before, during and after the forthcoming harmonised elections saying they should not expect the party to shield them from the full wrath of the law.
Speaking at the ground breaking ceremony of Semwa dam here yesterday Mujuru highlighted that violence was detrimental to the aspirations of the revolutionary party and the country at large.
"Anyone who engages in politically motivated violence during this election period should be arrested," she said.
"Those arrested should not expect any favours from either my office or the party. Why should we support such people? How is such conduct working for the party?
"Under our new regulations on primary elections, any aspiring candidates found guilty of promoting violence will be disqualified."
Turning to this week's primary elections Mujuru reiterated that Zanu-PF will not be imposing candidates on the electorate.
"We want the most popular candidates to represent the party and there is no way we are going to impose candidates.
"The people who will represent the party in the forthcoming elections are those who would have won in this week's primary elections," she said.
Earlier in the day VP Mujuru visited a voter registration centre at Dotito Council offices to check for her name on the voters roll.
She also officiated at the launch of the Mount Darwin mobile clinic and the ground breaking ceremony of a classroom block at Ruwane Primary School.
