ZANU-PF has lined up 10 star rallies to be held in the country's provincial capitals as the July 31 date for the harmonised elections draws closer.
Dates of the rallies would be announced today after a scheduled Politburo meeting.
Party Secretary for Information and Publicity Rugare Gumbo confirmed holding of the star rallies.
"We are going to have star rallies in all the 10 provinces. They would be held at provincial capitals," he said.
In Manicaland, Sakubva Stadium would host the rally while in Masvingo, Mucheke Stadium would be the venue.
In Matabeleland South, Pelandaba Stadium in Gwanda would be the venue of the rally, while in Midlands Mkoba Stadium would host the rally.
In Mashonaland Central, Bindura would be the venue while Chinhoyi would be the venue for the Mashonaland West province.
Marondera would be the place for Mashonaland East while the Matabeleland North star rally would be held in Lupane.
Harare and Bulawayo would be venues for the two metropolitan provinces. Gumbo said besides the star rallies, provincial leaders will also address mini rallies in their provinces with constituency campaign teams meeting the people at constituency level.
He said there would be ward meetings to garner support.
"Those who did not make it in party primaries have been asked to hold joint rallies and meetings with winning candidates," he said.
Gumbo said the party was working to ensure it retains all the seats it won in 2008 and reclaim the lost ones.
Commenting on independent candidates who are using Zanu-PF party symbols to campaign, Gumbo said they risked being prosecuted.
He said the party reserved the option to institute legal proceedings against the independent candidates.
"It's unacceptable to use our party symbols and President Mugabe's portrait. Those doing such may be prosecuted because they no longer belong to our party. There is no way an independent can use party symbols and materials.
We have rules and regulations. If one stands as an independent they automatically expel themselves from the party," he said.
He said only three aspirants for the National Assembly remain as independent candidates. These are lawyer Jonathan Samkange (Mudzi South), Marian Chombo (Zvimba North) and Daniel Garwe (Murehwa North).
