In an effort to boost her husband's slim chances of winning the presidential election, Grace Mugabe has donated tonnes of mealie-meal and other foodstuffs to the elderly and orphaned families in Mashonaland Central province.
The groceries comprising maize meal, cooking oil, sugar, beans and salt were presented during the presidential rally at Nzvimbo Growth Point.
Addressing the crowds that converged at the growth point, the Fist Lady said "the Bible teaches us to love one another and to support the elderly, widows and orphans because most of them are unable to fend for themselves, so it is crucial to support to these people in the province, and I am sure that all these people will always remember that the mother was here."
She urged Zimbabweans to vote for President Robert Mugabe in the harmonised elections, saying he is an unwavering and people-centred leader.
