Welshman Ncube has ruled out a coalition with the MDC-T saying his party will not go into a coalition of convenience with a party that does not have a national agenda.
Addressing about 1 500 supporters at the MDC national launch for the 2013 campaign at Madzivire School in Chikomba, Professor Ncube said his party is the only political party with programmes that can take the country forward.
Zapu leader Dumiso Dabengwa, who formed a coalition with MDC, said the coalition goes beyond this year's harmonised elections as the two parties have a lot in common.
Professor Ncube also introduced his party's 203 candidates for the house of assembly.
The event was also attended by members of the United Democratic Movement, formerly led by South African-based businessman, Mutumwa Mawere.
