'Zanu-PF water bills debt write-off swung vote,' says PIMZ

Progressive and Innovative Movement of Zimbabwe (PIMZ) president Tendai Munyanduri, believes the writing off of outstanding water bills by Zanu-PF's Ignatius Chombo, swayed people's votes in favour of Zanu-PF.
"I believe the Zanu-PF strategy of writing off water bills persuaded people to think otherwise and voted for the party," Munyanduri said.
"However, as parties that lost, we need to go back to the drawing board and re-strategise for 2018 elections.
"I think MDC shouldn't have regarded that Zanu-PF campaign as vote buying because many people have huge water debts. As the president of my party, we feel Zanu-PF copied our fliers where we addressed the same issue," said Munyanduri.
The Marondera-based engineer however castigated the election of Joseph Chinotimba as Buhera South MP saying it trivialises the law making function of Parliament.
Munyanduri applauded Tsvangirai for challenging the results in the courts even though he said the Judiciary was compromised.
"I think what Tsvangirai has done is commendable but he needs to come back to other smaller parties and we team up with what we saw related to rigging and we believe it will build up concrete evidence in the courts of law," Munyanduri said.
