Zanu-PF backtracks on intention to amend constitution

Justice and Legal Affairs Minister Patrick Chinamasa said last Friday at a press confrence that the "constitution may need cleaning up", however Zanu-PF appears to have backtracked on that intention.
Party spokesman, Rugare Gumbo: "I want to make the party position very clear, that we have no intention to change the Constitution immediately."
Gumbo also said the "constitution was crafted by our people and we were involved in the entire exercise so there is no reason for us to change it."
However Gumbo did not rule out amendments to the constitution saying "it is possible that in future perhaps when need arises, we will amend it but we will do it in consultation with the people because it is a people's Constitution."
