There will be no by election for the Buhera South senate seat left vacant by the death of Kumbirai Kangai as Zanu-PF will replace the national hero with another member from the party.
Zanu-PF chief whip, Joram Gumbo said that the late Kangai had been elected on a Zanu-PF ticket through the proportional representation system.
Gumbo said this means that Zanu-PF will have to provide the next candidate to replace Kangai.
Kangai who was going to represent Zanu-PF in Buhera South as a senator came through an arrangement in the new constitution adopted in March.
The arrangement states that each political party's allocation of proportional representation seats must be based on the total number of votes that particular party gets for directly elected MPs in each province.
