The Zanu PF Politburo met on Wednesday to discuss the new economic blueprint, the Zimbabwe Agenda for Socio Economic Transformation (ZIMASET), which was presented to the Politburo by Professor Jonathan Moyo and was well received.
The agenda aligns party policies with those of the government.
ZIMASET is being modeled in line with the Zanu PF 2013 election manifesto and campaign under the theme "Indigenise, Empower, Develop and Create Employment."
After members took their time to assess the impact of the new blue print on economic growth, the party is confident that ZIMASET will increase macro- economic activities.
The party's Secretary for Information and Publicity, Rugare Gumbo said everyone is happy and committees will be set to monitor and implement issues agreed.
Other Politburo members expressed optimism that Zimbabwe's new economic blue print will facilitate the growth of industry and commerce.
The party's Secretary for Lands, Dr Herbert Murerwa told the ZBC that ZIMASET is important in consolidating macro-economic gains.
"The party is therefore confident that this new policy will meet its intended goals," he said.
Another Politburo member, Retired Colonel Tshinga Dube said the government should focus on the monitoring and implementation of the policy.
"We shall do what we can to achieve our growth prospects and this will in the future increase production," said Retired Colonel Dube.
The new economic blue print, which will be launched before the end of this year, seeks to restore business confidence by focusing on infrastructure development, raw commodity beneficiation systems, measures to increase foreign direct investment, employment creation and mobilisation of funds to revive ailing companies, among other key factors.
Meanwhile, the Zanu PF Commissariat has received computer equipment worth US$220000 from the party leadership, to be distributed to all the country's 10 provinces.
The equipment includes 15 laptops per province, five printers per province, five guillotines per province and five cameras per province
Speaking at the occasion, Zanu PF Secretary for Administration, Didymus Mutasa said this is the beginning of the party being e-compliant and moving with technological trends.
Zanu PF Political Commissar, Webster Shamu said the gesture by the party leadership will enhance the working capacity of the Commissariat Department
Over 100 young party cadres are undergoing training to use the equipment for data capturing and electronic membership cards production.
