A couple who hit the headlines after the wife called her husband and asked him to 'listen and enjoy' while she had sex with his friend has been ordered by a Bulawayo court to to maintain distance from each other.
Egnes Chingombe had approached the courts seeking a protection order against her husband Jabulani Masuku whom she accused of being a threat to her life.
In his defence, Masuku came out guns blazing and accused her of making him listen to her having sex with another man. He also produced evidence to the effect that his life was in contrary to Chingombe's claims, the one under threat.
After going through the two's arguments Bulawayo Civil Court magistrate, Ms Sibongile Msipa was left with no choice but to grant a reciprocal protection order binding both parties. This effectively entails that the two maintain their distance from each other.
Ms Msipa also took into note that the two work together and advised them to do so in peace. The order will be in effect for the next 12 months.
During the court proceedings, Chingombe who looked surprised how B-Metro laid its hands on the matter was told by Ms Msipa that a court was a public office and journalists had the right to access documents. She rested her case thereafter.
Apparently Masuku and McLeod have been friends for more than 20 years.
Contacted for comment, McLeod acknowledged knowing Chingombe and Masuku.
"Yes I know Egnes and Masuku," he said.
Quizzed on why he snitched on his friend, he asked for the reporter to give him his contact details promising to phone back.
However, he did not and concerted efforts to get hold of him again hit a snag as his mobile phone rang on unanswered.
