MDC-T yesterday accused Zanu-PF of cheating the electorate by making false promises in its manifesto which it is now reneging.
In an interview, MDC-T spokesman Douglas Mwonzora said the past 100 days since the inception of the new government had shown that Zanu-PF cannot live up to its promises.
He said the ruling party was using the "sanctions mantra" to cover up for its failure to deliver on its electoral promises.
"Zanu-PF is slowly trying to move away from indigenisation which it promised during the elections to a predatory State capitalism. Zanu-PF cheated the people by making false promises in its manifesto. It can see that it cannot fulfill its promises," he said.
Meanwhile, The demolition of residential properties by Zanu-PF is inhuman and callous, MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai has said.
Tsvangirai, who toured Ruwa where over 200 illegal tuckshops and houses were destroyed in Runyararo, Zimre and Damofalls, also described the demolitions as a violation of the country's Constitution.
He said government should compensate for the tuckshops and houses that were demolished in Ruwa two weeks ago under a clean-up campaign.
He said in some cases in Chitungwiza people had built illegal houses under schemes supported by Zanu-PF politicians, but still their houses should not be destroyed before alternative accommodation has been found.
