Zanu-PF provincial results trickle in

Results of the Zanu-PF provincial elections, which were held in seven provinces across the country, have been released.
The Zanu-PF National Chairman, Ambassador Simon Khaya Moyo says the elections were conducted in a transparent and peaceful environment.
Addressing journalists at a media briefing held at the party headquarters in Harare, Ambassador Khaya Moyo said all the results which have been released are subject to confirmation by the Politburo members after a full report from the team leaders.
The National Chairman commended all those who contributed to the success of the elections and pointed out that logistical challenges were solved within the shortest possible time.
The Zanu-PF party was electing provincial chairpersons in the main wing and representatives in the Women's League and Youth League.
Harare:
Ambassador Amos Midzi was re-elected the Chairman after he getting 5615 votes.
Angelene Matambanadzo was elected the chairperson for the Women's League after garnering 2251 votes whilst Godfrey Gomwe got 1410 votes and is now the chairman of the Youth League.
Masvingo:
Callisto Gwanetsa is the new Masvingo chairman after polling 11474 votes while Shyllet Uyoyo got 4656 votes to represent the Women's League.
For the Youth League, Oliver Huruva was elected chair with 3249 votes.
Mashonaland West:
The race to lead the province was won by Hurungwe West legislator, Temba Mliswa who garnered 9185 votes to beat five other contenders.
His main rival, Philip Chiyangwa polled 7621 votes.
The Women's League will now be chaired by Constance Shamu after she beat the incumbent, Sarah Mahoka by 4532 votes to 3219.
The chairmanship for the Youth League was won by Vengi Musengi.
Bulawayo:
Dr Calistas Ndlovu retained the provincial chairmanship after beating Killian Sibanda and Douglas Ndlovu.
The incumbent garnered 1083 votes, while his deputy, Sibanda and Douglas Ndlovu got 592 and 757 votes respectively.
In the Women's League, Ever Bitu garnered 345 votes to beat the former chairlady, Sihle Thebe who got 291 votes, whilst Barbra Ghatsi got 280 votes.
In the Youth League, Mabutho Moyo surrendered the chairmanship to Khumbulani Mpofu who got 378 votes against Moyo's 339 votes.
Matabeleland South:
Results province indicate that the Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture, Andrew Langa has retained his post as the party's provincial chairman.
Langa garnered 5553 votes against former provincial chairman, Lloyd Siyoka and Phumuza Ndlovu who had 1013 and 558 votes respectively.
In an interview, the Returning Officer, Dr David Parirenyatwa, said the results of the elections, which he described as peaceful, will be presented to the Politburo before they are officially announced.
In other organs, Alice Dube and Washington Nkomo retained their posts as chairpersons of the Women and Youth Leagues respectively after winning unopposed.
Matabeleland North:
Richard Moyo was been declared the party's provincial chairperson after beating his rival, Reeds Dube.
Moyo garnered 7441 votes against Dube who garnered 3105 votes.
Madeline Bhebhe was also elected chairperson of the Women`s League after getting 2787 votes to beat Siphiwe Mafuwa who had 1393 votes.
The post of Youth Provincial Chairperson was won by Tamuka Nyoni who polled 1674 votes against 1376 votes won by Delay Ncube.
The Zanu-PF team leader for Matabeleland North provincial elections, Dr Sidney Sekeramayi said the voting process went on peacefully and smoothly despite some challenges.
He said at some stations, voting material was not delivered on time, resulting in voting delays.
He also said there was no voting in three centres due to irregularities in the voters register, adding that the results exclude Lupane West constituency.
Mashonaland East:
Ray Kaukonde emerged the winner in the provincial chairmanship race.
Kaukonde polled 24264 votes against 2616 votes registered by the other candidate, Philemon Mutongi.
Provincial team leader, Dr Obert Mpofu described the elections as peaceful and challenged the elected leaders to devote their energies towards strengthening the party structures in the province.
Manicaland, Midlands and Mashonaland Central provinces have already chosen their leadership.
