Zanu-PF losing candidates concede defeat

The losing candidates in the Zanu-PF provincial elections held over the weekend have conceded defeat, saying the polls were conducted in a free and fair environment.
Harare province's losing candidates told reporters that they are ready to work with the winners as the polls were free and fair.
The Minister of State for Harare Province, Miriam Chikukwa applauded the electorate for displaying maturity during the voting process while the re- elected provincial chairman, Amos Midzi promised that the party will work in unity to implement government programmes.
Meanwhile, the leader of the Harare province elections team, Dr Sikhanyiso Ndlovu applauded the province for their co-operation that led to the successful holding of the elections.
Harare province re-elected Midzi as chairman while Angeline Matambanadzo was elected the representative of the Women's League.
Godfrey Gomwe was elected the leader of the Youth League.
The provincial elections were held in seven provinces this weekend and the party's National Chairman, simon Khaya Moyo indicated that the results are still subject to confirmation from the Politburo after a full report from team leaders.
