ZANU-PF legislator Melody Dziva yesterday collapsed while delivering her maiden address to the National Assembly and had to be assisted back to her seat.
The youthful Dziva represents the ruling party in the National Assembly under the women's quota for Midlands Province.
She was just two minutes into her maiden speech, a response to President Mugabe's address at the official opening of the current session of Parliament, when she suddenly swooned.
Zvimba East legislator Francis Mukwangwariwa (Zanu-PF) helped her up and took her back to her seat, after which fellow party legislator Mandy Chimene (Makoni South) and Matabeleland South provincial representative Ms Priscilla Misihairabwi-Mushonga (MDC) attended to her.
Dziva was then taken to the clinic at Parliament Buildings and then to another health facility in Harare.
