Zanu-PF First Secretary and Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe has vowed that his party will reclaim Bulawayo in 2018 elections.

Mugabe was addressing his supporters in his opening remarks during the on-going annual 14th national conference in Chinhoyi today.

"The victory was no fluke, no accident but a spectacular triumphed results devastated the enemy but we did not do well in Bulawayo.

"We are coming there in Bulawayo in five years' time" said Mugabe.

"He says NRZ is the key to Bulawayo's revival."

Mugabe said the party (Zanu-PF), in four years time, shall be gunning for lost ground in Bulawayo. He urges the people to take the victory in their bosoms, hearts, bones and in their dreams that Zimbabwe has come back into their hands for them to direct things the way they wish they be directed.

Mugabe said he was in South Africa representing the people at the memorial for Nelson Mandela. The party has also lost 254 comrades as well this year.

Mugabe said they (Zanu-PF) did not see the MDC formations as the enemy but the British. He said the people refused the machinations ensuring that Zimbabwe will never be a colony again.

Opposition MDC-T led by Morgan Tsvangirai swept all parliamentary and municipal seats in the city strengthening its grip since its formation.

However, while addressing his supporters at the burial of former National Railways of Zimbabwe general manager Mike Karakadzai, Mugabe threatened Bulawayo and Harare provinces with unspecified action for ditching him in the elections saying residents should go and get what they want from MDC-T.

Speaking at the same occasion, War veterans' leader Jabulani Sibanda declared that Mugabe (89) would stand as party presidential candidate in 2018.

At that time Mugabe would be 94 years.

"We are looking forward to you being our candidate in 2018, some say you are old Cde President.... but let me say that you are our candidate.... Amai Mugabe will take care of you" said Sibanda.
