Zanu-PF wins Mbare by-elections amid claims of vote rigging

Zanu PF is reported to have won Ward 10 Karoi and Ward 12 Mbare by-elections amid claims of vote buying and rigging.

MDC-T spokesman for Harare, Obert Gutu said: "Hundreds of people with suspiciously-issued voter registration slips are being allowed to cast their ballots at several polling stations. These voter registration slips are a tried and tested Zanu PF vote rigging tool.

All political parties participating in this by-election had agreed that only those people whose names appear in the voters' roll would be allowed to vote but tables have now been turned and dubious people holding these voter registration slips are now being allowed to vote."

Confirmed results will be issued later.
