Prophet Uebert Angel, the popular Spirit Embassy founder has revealed that he has a Zanu-PF background but last year campaigned for opposition MDC-T.
The popular rich preacher said this in Marondera, Sunday during President Robert Mugabe's 90th birthday celebrations.
According to tweets posted on Sunday Mail's Birthday blog, Prophet Angel said he was raised by a Zanu-PF father.
Addressing Mugabe supporters at the birthday bash, Prophet Angel said African problems will always be solved by Africans.
He said he was raised by a father who belongs to Zanu-PF and although the same father raised a child who campaigned for the MDC-T. He said I know things will be written like "Angel swallowed by Zanu-PF. As if they knew of where I was before".
Prophet Angel jetted into the country late last week after more than a month in the United Kingdom. His arrival put paid to widespread speculation that he had relocated to London.
Zimbabwe's social media had been awash with the reports that Angel had fled the country but his aides insisted that he had merely routinely travelled to the UK.
