Wife's snake chases hubby around the bedroom

An emotionally charged man has accused  his wife of witchcraft, narrating how her snakes chase him around their bedroom.

Denford Mabvirakare on Friday told Harare Civil Court magistrate, Tafadzwa Muvhami that his wife, Prisca Chimwanza is possessed with "evil spirits" which makes her act weird at night.

Mabvirakare said he has been chased by snakes several times in his bedroom because of his wife's "witchcraft" and had to seek shelter in their children's bedroom.

He said his life has been ruined by Chimwanza, resulting in him running away from his house with his children because of her "evil deeds."

This emerged after Chimwanza hauled Mabvirakare before the court seeking custody of their two children, claiming he was failing to support them.

"I have no problem with her application but she is evil," said Mabvirakare.

"I left the house because she is possessed with evil spirits and I used to be chased from our bedroom several times by her snakes.

"Sometimes I had to sleep in the children's bedroom because of her.

She has ruined my life. I used to stay in Chisipite but now I am staying in Caledonia.

"I cannot give her my children because I will be putting them in danger. I am tired of her and mukadzi iyeye anotyisa (she is scary)," Mabvirakare said furiously.

He also told the court he does not want to go back home and was no longer interested to  know about her whereabouts.

Magistrate Muvhami ordered Mabvirakare to files his opposing affidavit before postponing the matter to March 6 for continuation.
