Arms dealer and Zanu-PF benefactor Kamal Khalfan has sued the Daily News for a staggering $10 million.
The paper published a series of stories detailing his involvement in dodgy business deals and acting as a middleman in questionable transactions.
Khalfan, who owns a private farm with the Big Five animals and drives top of the range luxury vehicles, in one email, claimed that he had the power to protect gays in Zimbabwe.
He is also said to be a fixer for pretty much anything to top government ministers. In his court papers the Oman businessman, who has been in Zimbabwe for the past 33 years and is the honorary consulate of Oman says the daily paper damaged his reputation.
This was after the paper carried stories alleging the businessman assured a German national Dietrich Herzog that he was able to facilitate business deals and circumvent bureaucratic red tapes.
