The China-Eximbank has approved a US$218 000 loan facility for the development of information communication technology (ICT) infrastructure for the growth of the sector.
The development was confirmed by Chinese ambassador to Zimbabwe, Mr Lin Lin at an ICT road show in Harare.
"I can confirm to you that a loan facility has been extended for the sector to ensure that there is increased use of technologies and installation of infrastructure for the growth of the economy," he said.
The Deputy Minister of ICT and Courier Services, Dr Win Mlambo said an ICT policy will be finalised soon as consultations with the stakeholders have been concluded.
The adoption of ICTs has increased tremendously and the finalisation of the policy document will assist in the setting up of proper infrastructure.
This loan comes after the Chinese bank also availed US$144 million for the refurbishment of the Morton Jaffray Water Works near Lake Chivero.
