ALL youths working in unison with suspended Zanu-PF officials in Manicaland are bringing the name of the party into disrepute and will not go unpunished, Deputy Minister of Energy and Power Development and Chimanimani West Member of National Assembly Engineer Munacho Mutezo said recently.

Eng Mutezo was addressing youths at a youth inter-district meeting held in Biriiri recently.

"We are aware that there are people who are working with people like former Zanu-PF provincial chairperson Mike Madiro, Dorothy Mabika, former provincial youth chairperson Tawanda Mukodza and Masimbamakuru Kangai behind the party's back.

"I want to put it on record that they will not go unpunished.

"Our party is for disciplined and loving people, so I want to urge you young people as vanguards of the party, to work towards building the party and not destroying it by hating each other and fanning factionalism," he said.

Eng Mutezo further castigated Central Committee members who are already "soliciting" for leadership positions ahead of the party's forthcoming leadership elections.

"That's unacceptable. You are already campaigning. Who told you to do so? Election dates are still to be announced. You haven't been cleared. Hard work should follow people.

"Honourable Chinotimba and I are so popular for losing (elections), but we were patient and now we are achieving in our respective constituencies," he added.

Various youths who attended the event pleaded with Eng Mutezo to help them secure employment and improve their livelihoods.

"We are wallowing in poverty. We need jobs even at your ministry (Energy and Power Development).

"It's sad that that people from out of Manicaland province are being employed  at  the diamond mining companies while we the locals are wandering  around the streets idle and desperate," Cover Chigidi of Ward 3 said.
