Zanu-PF seizure of ZESA jobs condemned

NCA has added its voice to condemnation of Zanu-PF's recent cherry-picking of party loyalists to the boards of some of the country's struggling entities.
Among those whose appointments have set tongues wagging are Hebert Murerwa, Patrick Zhuwawo, Elias Musakwa, Jacob Chademana and Walter Mutsauri who were drafted in the ZESA boards by Energy Minister Dzikamai Mavhaire.
But the NCA Monday condemned the appointments, accusing President Robert Mugabe's party of abusing its incumbency to stuff the troubled power utility with failed politicians.
Quizzed over his controversial choice of board members, Mavhaire said last week the unpopular appointments "were balanced in terms of skills mix, experience and gender".
But the NCA insisted Mavhaire's choices comprised "tired and failed" Zanu-PF individuals.
