Zanu PF has reportedly started a fresh onslaught on the media targeting editors of three national newspapers.

Suspected state security agents raided the offices of Sunday Mail Editor Edmund Kudzayi and stole a computer among other things.

Later, armed police officers raided the newspaper organization looking for Kudzayi who however managed to escape the building.

The armed officers also went to raid his parents' home with whom he lives.

Some police details also raided the Alpha Media holdings (AMH) offices looking for Zimbabwe Independent Editor Dumisani Muleya.

The cops did not find Muleya and demanded his address from fellow workers.

In Bulawayo, Chronicle Editor Mduduzi Mathuthu's house was raided by unknown people and stole property including a television set, clothes and food stuffs.

It remains unclear the motivation of the attacks on the journalists but it is feared that the action is a signal of Zanu PF factional fights turning ugly ahead of the party's congress this December.
