Resettled farmers to pay land tax, $1 per hectare

The Zanu-PF politburo met on Thursday and discussed how resettled farmers will be charged a land tax.

The Zanu-PF politburo meeting kicked off just after lunch hour and three main topics, which included the relocation of families affected by floods in Tokwe-Mukosi in February, fundraising activities for the party as well as the land tax issue, were on the agenda according to Secretary for Information and Publicity in the party, Rugare Gumbo revealed.

Gumbo also revealed that the issue of farmers paying a land tax also came under the spotlight.

The Ministry of Lands and Rural Resettlement is proposing that farmers pay a dollar per hectare as land tax per year.
