A KOMBI driver was shocked when he caught his prophetess wife of 20 years having sex in their matrimonial home with a neighbour on Friday afternoon.
Gideon Mudavanhu, 54, of Pumula East allegedly sneaked into his neighbour's house on the pretext that he was fixing a stove which had developed a problem. He was, however, later caught pants down by the prophetess' husband who had come home unexpectedly. The husband who refused to be named, but is popularly known as Samzozo, decided to go home and got the shock of his life when he caught his wife Sibonisiwe Sibanda having sex with Mudavanhu in their children's bedroom around 11AM.
"Friday was not a busy day, so I decided to go home for lunch a bit early as my wife is a prophetess at a local church who usually goes for prayers during the day," said the husband.
"When I got inside the house I heard funny sounds from the children's bedroom. I opened the door to check and I was shocked to see my wife having sex with SaMiriam (Mudavanhu)."
Upon realising that the two had been caught, Mudavanhu is said to have jumped off Sibanda and apologised profusely to Sibanda's husband. He still had a condom on.
The husband locked the two in the room while neighbours called the police who briefly arrested them and took them to Pumula Police Station and later released them.
Mudavanhu said he was trapped by Sibanda who had called him to fix the stove.
According to Mudavanhu, Sibanda started flirting with him and ordered him to fix the heater in the bedroom first.
"I went there to fix the stove but that woman started behaving funny saying I should fix the heater in the bedroom first.
"When we got into the bedroom, she started asking a lot of questions like uyindoda enjani? Usuthi yini? Yindaba ulele so (What kind of a man are you? Are you sexually satisfied?) Be a man and she gave me a condom," said Mudavanhu.
He however said he was not intimate with Sibanda as the husband came in while he was still holding the condom.
Sibanda allegedly confessed that they had spent time arguing with Mudavanhu who was refusing to use a condom for the third time. Neighbours who witnessed the incident maintained that they saw two used condoms in the room.
Neighbours gathered at the house to catch a glimpse of the love birds and jeered at Mudavanhu, who was heard saying ‘kuyatholakala' (It's common) when they asked him why he was doing such a thing to his neighbour.
"We heard some noise and rushed to Samzozo's place where we saw SaMiriam naked wearing a condom. I took pictures," said Mike Nkomo, one of the neighbours, as he showed the news crew some of the pictures he took.
Sibanda reportedly left her matrimonial home on the same day and is said to be staying with relatives at Emganwini. She declined to comment saying the matter was being dealt with by the elders.
Sibanda's husband said he took the matter to the courts but was advised that there was nothing the civil court could do since they were not legally married. He approached elders in the area, who promised to order Mudavanhu to pay damages.
