Zanu-PF launches electronic party card

Zanu-PF has launched an electronic party card for its membership to strengthen the party by embracing technology.
The new card will see the creation of an electronic database for the party with information on how many members it has, where they are located and enable information to be disseminated timeously to all levels of the party.
Issuing of the new cards will begin on Saturday in Harare province up to Monday before spreading to other provinces.
Zanu-PF National Commissar, Webster Shamu said the party has embraced ICT as a means to cement its landmark victory in last year's elections and enable the smooth running of the party and administration of party policies based on knowledge of its members.
Trial runs for the new card were conducted in Mbare, Epworth and part of Mashonaland West.
Shamu said party members should never allow a return to an inclusive government which is antagonistic by ensuring that Zanu-PF garners enough votes in elections to form a government.
All party members will pay a dollar to obtain the card, but subscriptions will be varied from between those in the cell to the district and those in the national consultative assembly, the central committee and the politburo.
