There was chaos in Kadoma yesterday when a mob of Zanu-PF supporters led by a war veteran disrupted a meeting called by the party's Mashonaland West provincial chairman Temba Mliswa to address a ragging land dispute.
Mliswa confirmed that the meeting ended prematurely after it was disrupted by a rowdy crowd.
He said he called off the meeting after realizing the situation was about to turn violet and insisted that the meeting was not political.
Zanu-PF National Consultative Assembly member Jimayi Muduwuri also denied that Mliswa had been chased away.
Mliswa said he had organized the meeting to rein in on a war veteran only identified as Bonde and one Simon Solo who allegedly were conning with the son of Muzvezve MP Peter Haritotis to block plans to reduce his farm size.
Mliswa said he also decided to call off the meeting invited a suspended youth leader, Vengai Musengi, to the meeting.
Meanwhile, Musengi was formally suspended from the party by the provincial executive committee on Monday.
