A Chitungwiza Zanu-PF councillor, Charamba Mlambo, was on Tuesday fined $200 and slapped with a wholly suspended three-month jail term for assaulting a Chitungwiza car park owner in a failed bid to take over the business.
Mlambo (30), who is the ruling party councillor for Ward 7, was charged together with his two accomplices Knowledge Zuze (30) and Henry Mupembamoto (30) with assaulting Knocks Charakupa who operates a private car park at St Mary's business centre.
Zuze was fined $100 for assault, while Mupembamoto was acquitted of the charge by magistrate Lazarus Murendo.
