The Zanu-PF Politburo meeting has ended pre-matually at the party's headquarters in Harare following a power outage.
During the meeting, the Politburo was informed that the revolutionary party has so far raised US$3 million against a target of US$8 million needed for the successful holding of the congress.
The 6th Zanu-PF elective congress will now be held from the 2nd to the 7th of December.
The Zanu-PF Secretary for Information and Publicity, Rugare Gumbo told journalists that congress preparations are well on course.
"We were looking at preparations for the congress. S.K Moyo gave his report and everything seems to be on course. We also looked at the venue, it's the City Sports Centre open grounds. The dates have been changed - our congress will start on the 2nd to the 7th of December. The theme for the congress is: 'Accelerated Implementation of ZIM ASSET," said Gumbo.
Meanwhile, the much-talked about issue regarding the fate of Vice President Joice Mujuru for allegedly being corrupt and having an underhand plot to oust President Robert Mugabe was not discussed due to the power outage.
"We did not discuss that issue. We await the report from the Secretary for the Women's League. That will open the debate on the rallies," Gumbo said.
The issue will be discussed next week on Wednesday after the outgoing Secretary for the Women's League, Oppah Muchinguri, presents her report regarding the 'Meet the People Rallies' held recently by the First Lady, Dr Grace Mugabe.
