Ousted Amos Midzi defiant, says vote of no confidence is 'null and void'

Ousted Zanu PF chairman for Harare province Amos Midzi says the vote of no confidence passed by some members of the province against him on Thursday is null and void as due and normal procedures were not followed to reach that verdict.
Midzi said the province should have organised a provincial meeting in which his deputy Christopher Chigumba would have chaired when Midzi became the subject of discussion.
Midzi also alleges that some of the signatories to the vote of no confidence did so under fear and intimidation by some provincial executive leaders of the various wings who threatened them with unspecified action.
He also alleged that some of the signatures are fraudulent and demanded that he be supplied with the original list of names and the signatures.
Ambassador Midzi denied accusations that he went against the rules and regulations of the party in running the affairs of the party saying members should uphold the principles of the party and the exemplary leadership of the First Secretary and President, Robert Mugabe.
He, however, agreed that he attended a gathering which he alleged was a social gathering where he was invited and had no control of the conversation and events there.
Meanwhile, at the provincial party headquarters groups of party faithfuls continued to gather and chanted anti-Midzi slogans and songs outside the headquarters with youth league leader Godwin Gomwe further alleging that Midzi had continued to sideline some elected members of the executive, in favour of his old guar
