Two Zanu-PF Provincial Women's League chairs have been shown the exit door after their executives passed a vote of no confidence against them.

Constance Tsomondo Shamu was booted out in Mashonaland West, while Shylet Uyoyo was dismissed in Masvingo.

In Mashonaland West, the no confidence vote decision was announced at a Chinhoyi hotel by Provincial Women's League Secretary for the Commissariat, Chinjai Kambuzuma.

Part of the reasons for the no confidence vote were the appointment of top posts on the grounds of nepotism without going through the electoral process, fanning divisions and chaos in the party and making decisions without consulting the Provincial Women's League executive.

Angeline Muchemei is the Acting Provincial Chairlady.

A letter has since been copied to outgoing National Secretary for the Women's League, Oppah Muchinguri; Zanu-PF Secretary for Legal Affairs, Emmerson Mnangagwa; National Political Commissar, Webster Shamu and Zanu-PF Acting Chairman for Mashonaland West province, Ziyambi Ziyambi.

In Masvingo, the Women's League executive member, Sinika Mutumbwa told the ZBC News after the meeting that a vote of no confidence had been unanimously passed against Uyoyo.

During the meeting, tempers flared with members calling for Uyoyo's head, alleging gross abuse of office, fanning of factionalism and setting up parallel structures.

The executive said they had since forwarded their petition for the removal of Uyoyo to the Politburo.

Uyoyo's ouster comes hardly two weeks after the then Provincial Chairman, Calisto Gwanetsa was given a vote of no confidence by the provincial structures, also on allegations of abuse of power, promoting factionalism, among other inconsistencies.
