A Zanu-PF Politburo meeting is underway at the party's headquarters in Harare.
The meeting takes place at a time Zanu-PF is preparing for its 6th National People's Congress to be held in the capital from the 2nd to the 7th of December.
The meeting also follows the dismissal of several party provincial chairpersons through a vote of no confidence from their provincial executives.
The Politburo meeting will focus on the party's constitutional amendments to be presented by the Secretary for Legal Affairs, Emmerson Mnangagwa.
According to internal sources, the amendments are aimed at tidying up the constitution and aligning it with existing situations, for an example, where the District Co-ordinating Committees have ceased to exist.
It has also been suggested that the election laws for provincial council committee members be put at ten per province.
Reliable sources say that the party intends to introduce incentives for provinces that produce the highest votes in general elections.
Preparations for the coming congress will be presented by the National Chairman, Simon Khaya-Moyo, while the party' Commissar, Webster Shamu will present a report on the state of the party.
