Zanu-PF Mazowe District chairpersons have reaffirmed their endorsement of party President, Robert Mugabe as the sole presidential candidate and strongly warned those plotting to oust the First Secretary ahead of the 2014 elective congress.
The Zanu-PF Mazowe inter-district meeting held at Nzvimbo Growth Point saw the chairpersons for the three main party wings coming up with a list of resolutions ahead of the provincial meeting.
The district resolved among other issues that President Mugabe is the sole candidate for the First Secretary post while Dr Grace Mugabe should assume secretary of the women's' league post.
Zanu-PF Politburo Member Saviour Kasukuwere commended the district for a spirit of togetherness ahead of the 6th national congress and reminded some party members fuelling divisions and plotting the ouster of President Mugabe that the party is bigger than individual aspirations.
Mashonaland Central is expected to elect 34 members for the central committee.
Kasukuwere told the chairpersons that they should elect people who can contribute to the strengthening of the party.
Among some of the recommendations by the district include the need for the president to appoint the two vice presidents, the implementation of the empowerment law and involvement of youths in economic empowerment programmes among others.
The recently held Politburo meeting considered reports from the provincial coordinating committees on their preparations for the forthcoming congress.
The provincial committees are expected to present comprehensive reports during the next Politburo meeting.
