Zanu-PF National Political Commissar Webster Shamu and central committee-elect member Sylvester Nguni have been recalled from the central committee posts they won in last week's elections.

This follows a demonstration in Chinhoyi by hundreds of Zanu-PF supporters from Mashonaland West, against Shamu and Nguni, demanding that they step down from their posts.

The demonstrators marched through the city of Chinhoyi wielding placards denouncing Shamu and Nguni.

Acting provincial chairman Ziyambi Ziyambi, provincial youth chairman Vengi Musengi, and central committee-elect member Philip Chiyangwa addressed the demonstrators at the party provincial offices in Chinhoyi.

Musengi accused Shamu and Nguni of selling out and of grabbing most of the companies in the province.

Chiyangwa announced that Shamu and Nguni had been booted out.

Later he handed a petition to Ziyambi who stated that those ousted will be blocked from attending the forthcoming national congress.

The petition is said to contain six names of people whom the province wants to recall from the central committee posts they won in last week's elections.
