Hundreds of disgruntled Zanu-PF supporters in Mwenezi district have demonstrated calling for the expulsion from the party of the Masvingo State Minister Kudakwashe Bhasikiti on allegations of his alliance and submission to a faction that sought to assassinate President Robert Mugabe.
The demonstrators, who marched from Rutenga Council Hall to the business centre, called on President Mugabe to recall the Masvingo Minister of State over his linkage with a faction that attempted to assassinate him.
They also accused Bhasikiti of corruption alleging he deprived 230 villagers of their grazing land in Bubi, which he later parcelled out to one Gudoshava, while he enjoys swathes of land at his Moria farm.
Newly elected Zanu-PF central committee member Tafadzwa Shumba accused Bhasikiti of vote-buying in the just-ended central committee elections and vowed not to work with a fraudster, factionalist and potential assassin.
The chanting and dancing protesters also unanimously agreed on the need for the sacking of Chiredzi legislators Darlington Chiwa and Danford Masiya for actively participating in the nasty plot to kill the President.
