Muzenda defies Zanu-PF congress ban

Tongai Muzenda, the first son of the late Vice President Simon Muzenda, has vowed that he will defy a congress ban imposed on him.

Muzenda, one of the members of the Masvingo Zanu-PF provincial executive committee hit with a vote of no confidence, said no one bar him from a party formed by his father.

The late Simon Muzenda a close ally of President Robert Mugabe was one of the veteran's leader's most loyal aides.

Tongai Muzenda who also is the deputy minister of Labour and Public service and legislator for Gutu West said the vote of no confidence against him was unconstitutional, adding he was yet to be served with a letter of suspension.

He added that Zanu-PF was formed by his father together with Mugabe, so how could he rebel against his father.
