Mugabe fails to name his two deputies

The Zanu-PF 6th congress ends in an anti climax as President Robert Mugabe failed to name his two deputies and members of the politburo.

There has been great anticipation towards Mugabe's naming his deputies following jostling by party members.

The savage attacks on Vice President Joice Mujuru by both Mugabe and his wife Grace had created so much hype a head of the congress as many waited to see if the Zanu-PF leader would replace her.

Mugabe said he would announce the members of the politburo next Thursday.
