Low turnout at Heroes Acre

A typical day at the National Heroes Acre would see throngs of people making their way to witness the burial of a national hero.

However, yesterday Khotso Lloyd Dube, was buried mostly by family members, cabinet ministers, diplomats and members of the apostolic church.

Very few posters could be seen in the stands, maybe signifying the powers that be in Zanu-PF did not care who he was.

Stands at the national shrine were practically empty, as the usual crop of army and police personnel were very few.

Ministers streamed into their tent lackadaisically, while some only arrived at the Heroes Acre when the body was being taken for burial.

VP Mujuru was conspicuous by her absence from the event, as well as that of other Zanu PF members who found themselves booted out of the party's hierarchy and have become ordinary card-carrying members.
