Sekeramayi under siege

Defence minister and Zanu-PF stalwart Sydney Sekeramayi is skirting on thin ice after President Robert Mugabe on Saturday said there is need to re-consider central committee members from Mashonaland East from an outcry by people from the province that the current elected members belong to ousted chairperson Ray Kaukonde.
Addressing thousands delegates on the last day of the national congress, Mugabe revealed that he received a letter from the province where people alleged electoral fraud that saw embattled Vice-President Joice Mujuru's loyalists landing the central committee posts, while their counterparts were falling by the wayside in other provinces.
Both Mujuru and Kaukonde have been accused of plotting to oust President Mugabe with the later reportedly being the principal player in gathering support for the vice-president's ascendancy to the presidency.
